We are looking for a Workshop Responsible for a major road infrastructure project in Romania, to join in our Webuild team, in Arad.
Job Overview:
The Workshop Responsible plays a crucial role in the maintenance and management of all construction equipment and machinery at the workshop. This individual is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of tools, equipment, and vehicles necessary for construction activities. The role involves managing a team of mechanics, technicians, and other workshop staff to ensure timely repairs, service, and efficient operations. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Workshop Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the construction workshop, including equipment repair, maintenance schedules, and overall workshop organization.
Develop and implement effective workflow systems to ensure timely maintenance of construction equipment.
Supervise the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of equipment, tools, and vehicles, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
Ensure the workshop complies with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff, assigning tasks and overseeing performance.
Provide training and development for workshop staff to enhance skills and ensure safety and efficiency.
Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and initiating corrective actions when needed.
Equipment Maintenance & Inventory:
Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs for all machinery and construction equipment.
Maintain detailed records of equipment service history, parts inventory, and repairs.
Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure all tools and machinery are in optimal working condition.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of spare parts and materials for repairs.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Monitor and control the workshop’s budget, ensuring costs are minimized without compromising on quality or safety.
Prepare cost estimates for repairs, maintenance, and equipment procurement.
Keep track of expenses and recommend cost-effective measures to maintain and repair equipment.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare detailed reports on workshop operations, including equipment status, repairs, maintenance schedules, and cost analysis.
Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all workshop activities for internal audits and external compliance.
Communicate regularly with managers, site managers, site supervisors, and other relevant stakeholders regarding equipment availability and readiness.
Education:
A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in workshop management or equipment maintenance within the construction industry.
Proven experience in managing construction equipment such as cranes, excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
Technical Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of construction equipment, tools, and machinery maintenance.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair techniques for construction machinery.
Proficient in using workshop management software and tools.
Leadership & Organizational Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage workshop operations efficiently.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining records and inventories.
Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members, contractors, and other stakeholders.
