Ioana is an example of professional evolution, and her story demonstrates how dedication and continuous learning can transform a career. From childhood dreams to her current achievements, Ioana’s journey is an inspiration for everyone who aims to grow professionally.

Childhood dream

Ioana’s story begins with her childhood dream: to work in television. "I dreamed of becoming a news presenter. I was fascinated by the media world and the confidence with which news presenters conveyed information. It wasn’t just about appearing on screen, but about being a trustworthy voice in a constantly changing world," says Ioana. Although her dream of becoming a presenter was not realized, she learned valuable lessons about the importance of clear communication and effective expression, principles she successfully applies in her current career.

Starting at Randstad

Ioana began working at Randstad Romania 9 years ago as an Office Manager. "In the beginning, the challenges were significant, but I quickly learned how to coordinate the daily activities of the office, manage resources, and support the team with administrative tasks. It was a valuable experience that helped me understand the importance of every detail in a well-organized team," Ioana recalls. This experience was just the beginning of a journey that continued successfully as she evolved professionally.

Becoming a Professional Talent Solutions Director

Today, Ioana holds the position of Professional Talent Solutions Director. In this role, her responsibilities are significant and range from coordinating operational processes to managing teams and ensuring the long-term implementation of the company’s strategy. "It’s a role that involves a lot of responsibility but also offers the opportunity to positively influence the entire organization’s activity. Every decision I make must consider the organization’s efficiency and performance, and this constantly motivates me," Ioana says. She mentions that each day presents new challenges, but also brings the satisfaction of witnessing the outcomes of her and her team's efforts.

Education and career background

Although Ioana built her career in the operational field, she is a graduate in Law and Public Administration, a choice that provided her with a solid foundation to better understand the internal processes of organizations. "I chose this field because I wanted to gain an understanding of how legal and administrative systems function and contribute to building more efficient structures within an organization. This choice opened many doors for me in my career," Ioana explains.

Ioana’s first job was as an Account Manager at an advertising agency. "It was a challenging but extremely beneficial experience. I learned how to manage client relationships, collaborate with internal teams, and develop effective communication strategies. This job helped me understand the importance of adaptability and innovation in a dynamic business environment," Ioana says.

Discovering a passion for recruitment

The decision to become a recruiter came from the desire to bring a change in how communication with talent, especially young professionals at the beginning of their careers, is approached. "I realized that recruitment can be more than just a selection process. It’s an opportunity to support the professional development of young talent, to provide constructive feedback, and to create a positive experience for them. I believe that recruitment is about building lasting relationships, not just filling out forms or signing contracts," Ioana emphasizes.

Advice for Junior Recruiters

For junior recruiters, Ioana has a key piece of advice: build authentic and trustworthy relationships with talent. Even though the recruitment process may sometimes seem like simply identifying the best candidates, long-term success depends on how well you connect with people. "It’s important for each person, regardless of their experience, to feel valued and know that someone genuinely cares about their professional journey," says Ioana.

To build these relationships, it is essential to be open and transparent in communication, to actively listen, and to ask questions that allow the candidate to express themselves freely, without the pressure of providing "correct" answers. "You need to understand not only the skills and experience of a candidate but also their motivations and values. That way, not only will you find the right people for the open positions, but you will also build a network of candidates who feel respected and will return with confidence in the future," Ioana adds.

Learning from every interaction

Moreover, Ioana emphasizes that every interaction with talent is an opportunity to learn. "Be open to learning from every recruitment process, continuously improve your skills, and build a portfolio of best practices. This way, you will become a better recruiter as you gain experience," Ioana concludes.

Why Randstad?

Ioana chose to remain with Randstad Romania since 2016 and has no regrets about this decision. "The company’s values and vision are perfectly aligned with my passions and professional goals. I am particularly drawn to the commitment to creating positive experiences for both talents and clients, as well as the personalized and empathetic approach in recruitment," says Ioana. At Randstad, Ioana is part of a team that focuses on building authentic relationships and supporting people’s careers, actively contributing to the development of partner organizations.
